sweet tea sippin' & front porch sittin'

I am so happy to see our front and back porches coming to life. Kirk and I have never had a covered front porch anywhere near as large as this one. I love it! For my birthday last year, Kirk bought me a porch swing – something else we have never had. Thankfully, we had some good Southern friends walk through the house at this point, and they told us we needed blocking in the porch ceiling to hold the weight of the swing and the folks sitting in it.

We also will have a screened in back porch and I’m betting this is where Kirk and I will most often eat dinner. Front and back porches will have ceiling fans and the back porch will be wired for a TV.

At this point, we have woods behind us, across from us and to one side of us. We have two small upstairs balconies that face the wooded side of the house, so I have lots of great potential spots for my morning cup of coffee. Can hardly wait!
